Recently the Department of the Treasury started issuing debit cards to provide stimulus money to taxpayers without banking information on file. This is NOT a scam. When recipients receive the card there is information to activate. You will be asked to provide information including the following; your name, your address, and the last 6 digits of your social security number. You will also be prompted to create a 4-digit pin number. Once activated this card can be used anywhere that accepts Visa cards.
