We have recently consulted with clients converting to QuickBooks Online from the desktop version and those starting a new business. The question that always comes up is, Which version should I choose? Even if you’ve been using online for quite some time, it could be to your benefit to review if you are using the appropriate version for your business. This is where we could save you money. It is possible to upgrade or downgrade your subscription without losing data or starting over. Generally, if you upgrade to a higher level you will gain users, features, and the price goes up. Likewise, if you downgrade you will lose users, features and the prices goes down. Either way, your connection to Kopsa Otte remains free as one of your accountant users. Here is a summary of the versions we recommend:
Simple Start 1 user $25 per month
Essentials 3 users $50 Adds bill pay and time tracking
Plus 5 users $80 Adds class and location tracking and inventory and budgets
Advanced 25 users $180 Adds Fathom reporting and customized access for users
*Add Payroll for $45 per month and up
When you sign up for QBO, you get the first month free as a trial and then your subscription and payment begins 1 month later. If you don’t set up a payment method, the file will be cancelled after that time. Other ways to save include:
50% off the price above for the first three months, including payroll at 50% off.
If you choose to be billed annually you save another 10% and only get billed once per year.
To see what plan you are on and the options available to you, log in and go to the Gear (upper right hand corner). Click on Account and Settings, click on Billings and Subscriptions. Under the price you pay, you will see options to Upgrade, Downgrade and Switch to annual billing. Click on those for further details and to change it.
